Chelsea are on the verge of agreeing a deal for Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata after intensifying negotiation for the Spaniard, though they will miss out on right back target Danilo.
The blues have been on the hunt for a striker since Antonio Conte told Diego Costa to find a new club, though their transfer plan was thrown into serious chaos when Manchester united hijacked a deal for first choice striker target Romelu Lukaku.
Morata had been a target for Manchester united this summer. However, the red devils ended their interest after landing Romelu Lukaku from Everton, this prompted the blues to make contact with Real over Morata availability, and according to Gianluca di marzio talk has progressed at a rapid pace and is now at an advance stage.
According to the Italian journalist, Chelsea has open talk with real and a deal is said to be close. A deal is “very close to completion” with Morata eager to finally work under Conte having been signed by the Italian at Juventus just before he went off to manage Italy, never getting the chance to play under him.
Chelsea had also been working on a deal for fellow real Madrid player Danilo, but their hopes have been dashed away by Manchester city who have agreed a deal for the Brazilian. Pep Guardiola has been in the market for a new right back to provide cover and competition for kyle walker , having missed out on Dani Alves to Psg the player who would have assume that role.
Real Madrid is believed to be receiving around 100 million euros for the two players. Which will enable them to fund a renew bid for kylian Mbappe, while Danilo costing around 30 million euro. The duo have been desperate for more game times, while Morata behind Real’s famed BBC attack in the pecking order and Dani Carvajal preferred to Danilo.
Morata scored 15 league goals last season, a figure only eclipsed by Cristiano Ronaldo among the real Madrid squad, and will be expected to fill the rather large boots of costa at Chelsea, who contributed more goals than any other blues player.
Chelsea FC are ready to go on a mega spree and in addition to Morata, they want reinforcement in defense and midfield, which will take their spending well over 150 million euro.
